Welcome to the Multiple Exposures Project! We are a collaboration of 10 photographers from around the world who have come together to create and share the art of Multiple Exposures. If you’re new to this idea, a multiple exposure can best be defined as, “the superimposition of two or more exposures to create a single image.” They can be created using many different types of cameras, including both film and digital.
During the days of film, Multiple Exposures were usually thought of as “mistakes.” Today many photographers are fascinated with them and believe they can be created purposefully, and as a means of fine art. Our goal is to push the boundaries, step outside of our comfort zones and support one another in our journeys to create uniquely beautiful images.
Each month we’ll be presenting our favorite in-camera Multiple Exposures to you, right here, in gallery form. We’ll also be sharing the equipment we used to create the images.
We’d love for your to follow along as we explore the artistry of Multiple Exposures. You can read more about our contributors here.
